We are interested in obtaining the correct tires for showing a 1962 E-Type coupe at JCNA concours. My understanding is that these would be the Dunlop 6.40x15 RS5. (This is a U.S.-market car, though delivery of it was taken at the factory.) I have been told by tire dealers the RS5s are currently not available and may possibly never be available. Suggestions?

I have the VREDESTEIN SPRINT CLASSIC as the Dunlop were pretty costly. My understanding is that the SIZE is very important to judging I don't know if Dunlop vs Vredestein makes a difference or not

correct bias-plies
I have nice new radials on the car now, identifiable as such from 300 feet, but am wondering what is considered correct for JCNA concours given that Dunlop RS5 bias-ply tires are no longer being manufactured. There is a similar issue with Dunlops for vintage racing.
Here is a Link to a doc on the website

It has info on tires for you.
