Hi,
I am sorting through an electrical problem, but I am having trouble finding some components on the circuit diagram.
There are four relay components mounted to the fire wall in the engine compartment. The one on the far right is the main power relay. The one on the far left does not appear to be a relay at all. Does anyone know what circuits these components are part of? What the do?

Well, the relays (except for the starter relay) have been removed in your picture. The larger relay on the far right is the starter relay. The next wiring plug from the starter relay goes to the main efi relay, then the fuel pump relay, and finally the red one is the "Pectron" relay or diode pack. It handles fuel pump power source switching during the start sequence.

I must be clueless on this - but could one of them be the windshield wiper relay?

the windshield wiper relay is located under the dash, in the passenger side, in the Series III XJ cars. It is a blue relay and it is used for the Delay mode of the wipers.
