Have 1965 XKE, brakes stay applies for a few seconds after peddle is released. Sometimes the stay on untill I pull away, then they release
and all is well untill I apply the brake again.

Tom,
In the future, please post questions like this in the model forums further down the forum page. The general discussion forum is for just that -- general discussion.
That said, do you know if all for wheels are sticking, or if it's just one wheel that is hanging up? If it is one wheel, it could be that you need to rebuild that caliper. The piston could be hanging up or frozen. It's also possible that the inside of the brake line to that wheel is separating, causing a flap that is making the brake fluid release slowly, but fairly rare. If all 4 wheels are locking up on you, then I'd suspect a problem with the master cylinder.
When was the last time you bled the brakes? That might be a good place to start. Bleed all 4 wheels, starting with the right rear, left rear, right front, left front, and see if that clears up the problem. If not, then go from there.
