Shriners held their Concours d’Elegance
at Mather field on Sunday, May
18 as one of their fundraisers for a very
worthy cause, their children’s hospitals
nationwide. We were invited to participate
and exhibited our ‘54 XK120 Jaguar.
Since we do drive it for enjoyment
from time to time, it wasn’t polished
enough for judging. An excellent selection
of cars were present, some other
Jags – another XK120, an automatic
transmission XK140, a couple XKEs, a
1937 Jaguar 55 and a ’47 Mark IV as
well as other interesting machinery. - Linda Banta
