hello i have always wanted a jaguar but was scared to buy one because i was afraid of the cost of repair and im not sure how dependable they are. I was wondering if i buy a 95 xj6 with around 100k miles on it would i have problems with it or not?

Plenty of 94-97 XJ saloons out there with a lot less miles for very reasonable money. You would do better to look for one just over 60K with the major service already done. If you cant afford one of those, which should run you maybe $15,000 then you certainly cannot afford to maintain one with 100K on the clock. These cars are not cheap to run. Any car with 100K is going to need suspension parts, a lot of rubber parts such as belts and hoses, and some of these cars need a head gasket at 100K. There will also be electrical issues, switches gone bad, leather dried out and in need of redyeing, lots of things.

Its just not a car for someone on a budget, it can even be expensive if you do your own work.

Boy, that is really a loaded question. You could have problems with any '95 car with 100k. If they are maintained, Jags can be just as reliable as any other car and if not can give you fits, same as any other. The '95s have a very strong drivetrain, (AJ16 engine) but can have some niggley little problems. not to much that would keep you from enjoying the car. Check the history of the car as much as you can, Carfax, maintenance, does everything work( air, switches, lights etc). Check around rear wheelwells for signs of rust. Some cars will start there, especially northern cars. Have it looked over by a trusted, competent mechanic and you should be ok for many more miles of great driving.
