I am having a sticking problem with my brakes. After applying the brake pedal the brakes stay on momentarily and release as soon as the car is moved. This phenomenon is very disconcerting as sometimes it takes a good deal of revs to move the car and release the brakes. In an attempt to remedy this condition we have changed the brake booster brake hoses and the master cylinder to no avail.

My question is has anyone else experienced this problem and if so what is the fix?

If all 4 were locked up, and cracking a bleeder fixed it, it isn't the calipers. Nor hoses. Those would affect one or two wheels. As you found, booster and master is where you look, and pushrod adjustment is a key.
Could be one caliper sticking. Only way to tell is jack it up, block it up, apply the brakes, release, and have someone immediately turn the wheels, one at a time. You'll find it.

Hi Ralph,
Why did you decide not to check the disk brake wheel cyls.? Mine started out slowly doing the same thing until one night on I-95, I had to pull to the side because all 4 wheels locked up. It was an amazing sight to behold, all 4 disks were glowing a bright red from the friction. I opened one of the bleed nipples to relieve the pressure & drove home using the hand brake.
I first rebuilt all 8 wheel cyls. but then found the problem to be the servo. All the seals had turned to mush from using the wrong brake fluid. A very expensive mistake.

Ralph if you changed all of that I would look very closely at the adjustment on your MC push rod and the brake pedal arm to make sure the carpet or firewall is not holding things up.
