Can anyone shed some light/advice on running 6 inch rims w/ my series I 2+2? The rubber guard (for lack of the official tag) is gone as far as I can tell. I believe I am looking for the appropriate item which would be in the rear wheel well and should be against the inside wall - there is nothing there and appears there once was. Any advice on tire size and specifics that work (ie no rubbing). My goal is a little wider profile look without sacrificing drivability. Thanks!

I recently upgraded to 6 inch rims on my 67 OTS using 205/70 ZR 15 Pirelli tires with no problem with rubbing on the rear rubber stops. Since yours are already removed there should be no problems in this upgrade. As far as sacrificing drivability it is my opinion that the overall driving experience has improved dramatically, it is such a pleasure to drive this e-type with the new tire technology installed. The 6" rims will fit nicely, after that it is personal preference to appearance, handling, and driving experience.
