William there were other companies that did do conversions--most were very poor and most are thankfully gone. H&E did compete in a bid process and won. When I talk about H&E conversions I am talking about the 3000 or so cars that were done in cooperation with Jaguar. You stated in your opening post that this was a 1987 car. If so and it was done by H&E it would conform to the agreed model. As I stated before the cars had to be able to be serviced and repaired by the dealers--which is where the customer purchased the car in the first place. Not sure what you have but a call to the archives might help! H&E cars are in the records first as a coupe then a convert.

Hello George, I do have the supplement with all the service bulletins etc, and the only thing shown that is part of my system is the -4 relay block- which is fitted in the Boot, there is nothing like the system fitted to this car which has a seperate 4 rlay block located behind the right front console. I was under the impression that H & E ( along with a number of other companies) converted a number of cars for owners of coupes before getting the contract from Jaguar so I was hoping someone might have had one and could help.

William Jaguar did publish a parts and service manual for the cars. It was a Jaguar publication. As I said before JCNA offers the book and includes all the bulletins for update of various items. Not much of a haystack. Your history is a bit off also. Jaguar HAD the cars made and they were sold and serviced through the dealer network. H&E was simply a contracted agent!

I am still looking for electrical diagrams and parts for an 87, There is no reference to these customized cars in the various jaguar publications because Jaguar had nothing to do with them, they were all customized by H & E for clients. I would imagine that H & E produced a supplement for their cars. This fits the saying, "looking for a needle in a haystack".

Peter have owned one since 1991. Scuttle shake can be seen over seriously poor RR crossings. Weatherproofing is excellent and the top mech. is all US design and sourced-no issues yet but I have heard of RAM failure. Yes they are sleek!

I don't know much about the H&Es except they look very sleek. I've never seen one in person so can anyone comment on scuttle shake and reliability of the hood system or its wind noise and weather-proofing etc. in case I'm tempted?
Pete

William, what in particular are you needing. The normal '87 Jaguar diagram still applies to the Hess & Eisenhardt. There is a bit of additional electrical info for the top and rear windows in the H&E documentation, but it's sorta cryptic.
Got an email address I can use? I'll see if I can help out.
Cheers,

William JCNA sells the Hess and Eisenhardt service manual with all systems and parts in one. It also includes all technical Bulletins. It is in the Shoppe under both parts manuals and service manuals.
Saw this old post about Hess and Eisenthardt and thought I would try contact!
I Recently purchased a 1988 HE convertible. Nice car but needed some work as the previous owner burnt the top while in the down position and I need to replace it and a couple other items. No other damage to the car although the seat covers, carpet and door panels need replaced because of the smoke damage. Any assistance would be helpful. I am a mechanic so replacing items is an easy task for me. This car only has 18k original miles and I feel lucky to have acquired it.
Thanks,
Richard
