Hello All,
I've realized in the short time I've had the XJ-S that when I'm going at below 50 mph and barely tap the breaks the car will occasionally shake a bit. There's really no rhyme or reason that I can see, as it does it infrequently and only when I barely press the break. Any ideas?

to my experience warped rotors are only evedent by applying the brakes, or checking with a dial gauge for run out........... shaking either at 30 or 60 mph is usually tyres that are out of ballance....

Well Patrick have you checked the rotors for runout--my experience is not the same as yours---heavy application hides warped rotors--it is lite application that allows the feedback--but until you check you will not know.

I also thought it was warped rotors at first, but I've had experience with bad rotors in the past and generally the shaking is always evident, regardless of speed or the force used to depress the brakes.

Braking.......... as they say it / spell it. sometimes a look is worth a thousand words. take it apart and just have a look..
