I need to find a suitable mechanic to do the 60K service on my 94 XJS V12. This is apparently a large service and can be very expensive. Can anyone suggest a suitable honest mechanic/garage in the Boston area? Also, how much should such a service cost and what exactly is involved?

Secondly, the cam covers are leaking oil. One local garage suggested skimming the surfaces before replacing the gaskets. Is skimming to be recommended in this situation?

Check with the members of JANE. I'm sure they know some good Jag mechanics around where you are. I know there are a number of ads in their newsletter.
