Brake fluid for 1968 2+2

Thanks for your input. I have a brake fluid leak, but need to drive it in to the shop for the repair. Once I get it there safely, I plan to have some major service done on brakes, carbs, and other essentials to be sure it's safe to drive. I bought it on E-Bay in the fall of '04 and there's not much documentation or history on the car. It's a good driver though!John Maloney

You should use Castrol GT/LMA brake fluid available at most autoparts stores or you local NAPA store. It exceeds DOT 3 & DOT 4 and will protect your entire brake system and help stop the rubber parts/seals from breaking down. Just ad it to your master cylinder reservoir and try to bleed each caliper to flush out the system which should be done every 2 to 3 years anyway.I like to bleed the closest caliper to the reservoir first (left front) so any crud/rust in the system does not get into other calipers.

Thanks Michael. I had asked around at a few shops, but couldn't get an answer. I'm a new owner of a '68 E 2+2. Dave Randall of JANE found me a shop close to home where I can get some things repaired so I can get this beautiful car on the road. Looking forward to attending some JANE events soon.

Any DOT 3 or better fluid will work fine.
