I am considering buying a used XK8 convertible next summer.
Looking at 1997 to 2000.
Is there a buyers guide I can use which tells me what to look for and what problems to avoid?
All advice is welcome.

I have been looking for a car for a couple months online for a XF Luxury Lease and i found this Lease company that i ordered it through they were able to find me the exact car i was looking for. I am a picky person i wanted some hard things to find and they found it for me thier Residual value was great which is a big thing for me. if you have time check out this site and let me know what you think about it.

Peruse the XK8 and XJ8 forum archives and modern model pages at www.jag-lovers.org. You'll find lots of good information there. The 97-2000 AJ-V8 engines had problems with timing chain tensioners, water pumps, and Nikasil cylinder linings. There's lots on Jag-Lovers about all three of those problems.
