I have sitting in my garage, a 77 series II that someone gave to me. Unfortunately, the old cogger who gave me the car can't remember where he ever left the keys some 12+ years ago when parked it.
I would rather not use the tried and true method of a slide hammer to remove the ignition to access the innards of the steering column. Can someone direct me on a better (albeit, maybe not easier) method of unlocking the steering wheel w/o the keys?
Thanx!
Talk soon,

Re.: Bypassing the key
Hi dave,
I took one of these out a year ago with just simple hand tools, screwdriver, spanners etc, Took the lock out to the local locksmith nad had them make me a key for $20, for 2,
Not too hard, just start unscrewing the steering column area and keep going till you get to it..............no barbarics please............ Art Dickenson.,

hi,
why not call on the services of a locksmith experienced with Jaguar keys?
causing any damage now will give you lots of headaches later, trying to find replacement parts.
