I'm new to this forum.
I consider buying a US spec. 420, and have few candidates on my hunting list.
I'd appreciate if you could help with the following questions:
- I've seen some 420's with the dummy horn grilles below the inner headlights, but some without it. Was it an option? Is it specific to one model year? Can a car without them be retrofitted easily with them? Are they available to buy?
- 420 original AC unit in the trunk: are they powerfull enough to cool the front seats? Would it be recommended to replace the York compressor with a modern unit?
- Any recommendation regarding parts sources, either in the USA or the UK?
- What is the estimate penalty in performance and fuel consumption between the automatics and the manuel transmission cars?
Any general tips or ideas what to look for?
