Looking for an Etype body.
Thinking of installing a Mercedes Benz diesel(none turbo)powertrain.
"Well", I did say crazy idea.
Sad to say that I just missed one, it went to the crusher last week.
I would only do this to a no loss junker.

Not so crazy. My 190D weighs 200lbs more than my E-Type. It can do 0-60 in 9.5 seconds, with automatic. With a manual, an E-Type would probably do under 8 seconds with the same motor. Gas mileage would be 35-38 highway. Might surprise people when your E-Type became a baritone, but it would be a very pleasant car.
I'll be working on both cars tomm'w, it will be interesting to measure up the motor.
