Cylinder head colors

Still just wondering about this: "S/n of the head on my car is "F 1969-8S" - which matches the data plate, so is original to the car. Does the "S" also indicate the SE model of the car (like the "S" at the beginning of the chassis number)?"

That pumpkin color is what I saw on the 150 at last years CC. Thanks.

S/n on the spare head is "V 4189-8". Color is very much like the last photo, but a lot dirtier!

This the best photo I have of a standard 3.4L XK-150 with the Robin's Egg, blue or green, looks more like aquamarine.

Here's a 140MC with the RED, "C" type head on a 3.4L block, also with the optional 2" sand cast carbs.

This is where the head numbers are located on all heads, @ the front of the valley. That's my 150 "S" number.

Here is a photo of a XK-150 "S" straight port head with what is referred to as "Pumpkin Orange". It is also used, I believe, on early XKE engines before the "Gold" as seen on later engines.

There are several number cast or stamped in the head, some on the underside. Is there one specific number I should be looking for?

At last year's Challenge Championship, there was a gorgeous XK-150 (BRG) w/ what I would have called an "orange" cylinder head. Is this the "pumpkin" referenced in that table?

Also - I have a spare head which appears to be the light blue-green. The table tells me that this could have come from any of several different models. Is there a way to tell from the numbers on the head, which model it would have come from? And, if I ever needed to, could this head be rebuilt and installed on my XK-120 engine?
