Ops, that would help...
I have a 1967 xke 2+2. It is the S 1.5. Here is how it started, I had fumes coming out of the dash one day so I opened it up and there were a few wires that got fried. We figured the culprit was the ammeter and a black wire going to the key.
A fellow jaguar enthusiast told me to get the dash loom, which later we found out it does not have ammeter leads. And that is why I asked the questions above.
The good news is I removed the air filter intake and was able to get to the starter and connect the red/white wire and was able to install that part of the loom. Still can't figure how to approach the door light switch.
When I removed the air filter intake I found a hose that connects the intake with another hose that goes to the engine. Anyone knows the part number or it's name. Please let me know if this help or you need more info? I don't have much car repair/restore experience
