I just bought my first Jag, the incredible 1996 XJ12. I'm going to give it a complete maintainence service, including coolant flush and change. I've been happy with Dexcool type long-lasting coolant in other cars, and am wondering if it is advisable to use in this car. Any thoughts appreciated.

Is Dexcool type coolant advisable?
I just found an excellect article online that discusses which coolant to use. The net is Dexcool should not be used on cars with brass/lead radiators. This is a good read for anyone confused about which coolant to use.

Joe,
your Owner's Handbook or your local Dealer should give a better answer. I use Prestone in both my Jags and I am happy too. I've never studied coolants enough to know the difference between one brand and the other.
