David, Thanks I am in process of getting Heritage Certificate, so will then see who first dealer was, I am not sure what happened after that. The people I purchased from were pretty good business people apparently. The husband went out and purchased my car as a birthday gift for his wife. It seems she did not use it all the time and so it often would not start when she came to use it so gradually lost interest. Then they had it fully restored around eight years ago and again the same thing happened as the lady preferred to use their old pick up truck instead.
Its funny how some of these cars seem to have some amusing stories to them, I have spoken to her but she is pretty vague about some of the detail as she had it as a gift. Her husband is just not interested at all, he says it was bought for her and aside from paying for it and the subsequent servicing and restoration he has no interest in the car. I have had to leave it to them that should more paperwork etc come to light that they will contact me and pass it on. Hence also the reason that he cannot recall the name of the Jaguar dealer he purchased from, it could be that if the name has changed or if the dealer has moved then that is why he thinks they may have gone out of business.
It would be good if like you I could trace the car back and obtain some of the original documents, but thank you for responding once again.
Tony
