I am a new owner of a 2010 Jag XF. I had heard that the old Jags(1950s-1960s) were designed to be driven often and hard and if in fact the car was driven as designed, it would perform better and have less maintenance problems.
Does anyone know whether this holds true for new models as well? Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't say I drive my Jags hard, I'm into what the Brit's call SPIRITED driving.... :-)

Driving Jag often and hard
Anthony,
I was told the same thing about my 1999 XJR (110,000 miles) by the guy I bought it recently from (my brother-in-law, a car guy from way back). But I do any way. Valves are do a little ticking when I get into the supercharger. That worries me a bit. I wouldn't give it a second thought to drive a 2010 hard. Enjoy it!

It's a Jaguar. Of course you should drive it often and hard. Why else did you buy a Jag?
OOPS! I guess that means the jig is up! I'm busted.
