...were installed incorrectly on this 1961 Series 1 E Type: I found the left bar had been installed on the right side, right bar on the left side. I am aware that each bar is stamped LH or RH, and that each bar is pre-loaded, left and right side-specific, and sold in pairs. The car was driven about 750 miles in this condition, and not surprisingly, the front end is REALLY low.
My question: can I just switch the bars to correct, or should I replace with new bars, making sure they go on the correct sides?
Thanks for any input or suggestions!
George

Hello all -
Just in case someone needs this info in the future, I'll share what I did to close this issue:
I got new torsion bars, and installed them on the correct sides using the Service Manual procedure. After talking with a lot of people, it seems that the preload, if loaded in "reverse", will unwind the bars, and they will never reach the correct preload to allow the car to ride correctly.
The benefit here is that the ride height now is correct, and the front end rides noticeably better, without jouncing, or feeling loose.
Best to all -
