Hey all;

I know that the cost of fuel these days is an issue for all of us. Since my XJ6 will NOT run well on the low grade fuel I am forced to move to the mid-range at the very least.

A friend told me that I could run the low end fuel if I were to "mix in" a little Diesel fuel.

Is this true, and if so, how much Diesel should I add per full tank?

Thanks

Dennis

CROWEMATE/ready for first Jag

Hello!
My 1980 XJ6 was on 91 fuel, and kept hesitating when I tried to accelerate. It felt like no power, might stall.
I have the two 10 and one half gallon tanks, so I put two bottles of
a $3.00 Octane booster in each tank...raises my octane from 91 to 97
since each bottle is a 3 raise...not one mile down the road and my
kat was smoother, quieter and no more hesitation...hope this helps.
be safe,
Kathy

Thats a new one on me, wouldn't that clog the smog equipment?? I would not try it since a diesel burns different from gas anyway. I think you would be better off trying the 87 grade with an cheap octain booster which you know is safe to mix. The high grade may cost more at the pump but when you have to start replacing injectors and other related parts you will be glad you stayed with the 93

Just my opinion...
