It would be really nice if we could identify one event every year and encourage all of the enthusiasts out there who are vintage racing a Jaguar to attend. Ideally we'd like to see a venue that is "centrally" located so as to minimize the towing distance and maximize the people who would come.
I'm working on attending the VDCA-VRG 4rth annual Wild Hare Run at Virginia International Raceway (VIR)in April 2006. See www.vintagedrive.com for details.
The venue is absolutely beautiful (see www.virclub.com) and the location is ideal for people coming from all points on the compass:
- 6 hours to Atlanta
- 8 hours to NYC
- 10 hours to Orlando
- 13 hours to Chicago
- 17 hours to Dallas
- 24 hours to Denver
The track is fantastic too. This event will be very relaxed with lots of track time and good race groups. Always somebody to play with!
