How do you change headlights on a series 1.5 with the open scoop? First time I've had to do this since I've owned the car. Do you have to remove the inner panel under the bonnet or can it be done from the outside? On the outside there are only two screws that appear to secure only the chrome trim.

You pry the chrome ring off at the top with your fingers. There is a spring clip at the top, put a little grease on it before you put the chrome ring back on. Once the chrome ring is off all the screws (3) needed to remove the sealed beam headligh are exposed don't mess with the beam adjustment screws. This is the same chrome ring that's on MGBs and other English cars. It may help to lossen things up by rotating the ring back and forth a couple of inches each way - clockwise and counter clockwise.
