I'm trying to figure out why my headlights don't work. For a while they would work when I jiggled the switch. Then they stopped working altogether. Thinking the switch finally gave up the ghost I replaced it, but they still don't work, not on high or low. The highs will come on when the flash-to-pass (turn signal) stalk is pulled. I pulled the left headlight out of its bucket and one of the wires came out of the connector. Using a meter, I don't get power at any of the three wires. Fuses look okay. So, I assume there's a fault in the harness somewhere. Does power go from switch to fuse to headlight, or fuse to switch to headlight? It's possible mice have gotten in but why would the high beams work at all if there's a break in the harness going to the lights?
Thanks for any advice or tips.
