I need a Churchill JD 1D Hub puller. Anyone know where I can find/borrow/rent/buy this tool or a comparable substitute?

Re.: Hub puller
I've seen them advertised (or a reproduction) during the last year by one of the big 5 parts houses. I went down this road about a year ago and decided that even if I did get a hub puller(to change a wheel bearing in my case), I wasn't comfortable with the rest of the procedure (shims, preload, etc.), so I had Ed Grayson, a jag specialist, in Portland, Oregon do it. In retrospect, it was well worth the extra $100.00, after deducting for the cost of the hub puler and bearing kit.
Of course, if you can't find someone that has experience with this procedure, you're probably better off doing it yourself. You might want to get George Camp's opinion on this. George, you there?

What you want is a JD1 C or D. I have two but shipping and a BIG deposit would be required. This is not a home job. Why not remove the whole half shaft and have a machine shop press it all in and out?
