Can I get a declaration/clarification about 1950's Jaguar paint names, colors, etc? I have a heritage certificate for my '56 MK1 3S940061 that states the original color as "Pacific Blue". I have seen two blues represented as Pacific Blue here; http://www.xkdata.com/catalog/colors/ . The first example being dark, but the one at "more Pacific Blue cars" is light, more like Pastel Blue, but seems to insist that it is Pacific Blue.
I have seen a list of colors and codes here: http://www.xkdata.com/catalog/colors/ that doesn't include any Pacific Blue for any era.
I have seen a "Jaguar Colour Guide for All Models" brochure here: http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/col_guide_models.html which also does not include Pacific Blue.
Other sites have Pacific Blue listed for Jags after 2000. My own '56 is currently repainted a sand/gold color, peeling in spots, over what looks like black (an available Jaguar color then), or possibly the very dark "Indigo Blue" shown on the "Jaguar Colour Guide for All Models". Perhaps what is on my MK1 is a black primer for the sand/gold? Could be, I suppose, but the black just has the look and feel of original paint...very hard, still "polishable" even after prepping for repainting, and thin like it is part of the metal, not just "laid-on" like a cover paint-job.
Was there a change of names for some colors? Is my '56 MK1 possibly one of those custom-painted, and Pacific Blue was available, and listable on the build plate/records?
I'd like to have the real info so I can make a decision about my restoration plans. Is there a concours judge in the house who knows this stuff and can spell it out?

Wiper arms....depends. They're different for RHD and LHD. The kink on the tip is opposite. But, I can take a photo when the rain stops!
Mine does not keep trying to drive to one side.......unless a tyre gets low, then I can feel it.
First guess is tyre pressure. Second (if Radials) is a "set" to the tyre, and the trick to determine is to swap LF and RF wheels with tyres.
If it pulls the other way, it's tyre cord set.
Next would be suspension bushings, make sure tie rod ends are not shot, idler arm good shape.

Dave..it is a '56. That cast grille was used into the '57 production year, then they went to the larger grille and radiator of the 3.4L's. Mine was completed on Feb. 29, 1956. You may find more info on it by searching for "S940061" (apparent typo accounts for the useless "3"). A decent driver when I got it, it's now at the shop being turned into a real good driver, with suspension, engine, and drive-line service and updates.
If you bump into anybody with the answer to my Pacific Blue blues investigation, please pass it along (but I am still leaning strongly to my first choice, the new Mini's Pepper White).
And on the topic of wipers, can you post a pic of you wiper arms, without the blades on, so I can compare with whatever the heck I have, which don't seem right?
Does your RHD Jag keep trying to drive on the left side of the road?

Not an answer to your question, but, am I to guess from your photo that you, also, have a 2.4L? From the spacing of the grille bars, a 2.4L Sedan? (MK1)
