Wicker;
George is helpful. As a quick answer I will add this. Mine os a 1970 2+2 with auto but the principle remains the same.
Engine and transmisson bolted together. Starter in place. Head on as well as the cams and covers. Leave the intake and exhaust manifolds off and leave the waterpump off. The engine stableizer bracket need to be attached to the to the bell housing. Leave the motor mount brackets off also. Once the engine is in place you can then attach the motor mount brackets.
Support the rear of the car and raise the front and roll the engine in place and lower the car and support the front then you can use the lift to raise the engine up to the correct height.
If the IRS is in place remember to put the drive shaft in place before you install the engine.
Hope this helps your planning and if I can help more just email me .
