Probably ought to have the service guy clean the area and actually trace the leak. The pan/filter assy [one piece] leaking is a possibility, but not very common. More likely is a leak at the large Transmission Control Module connector sleeve, or a pan seal leak due to some erosion of the seal surface on the trans housing.
The connector that passes through the trans housing is at the right rear of the housing, above the pan. That sleeve the connector slides into has two seals that can develop a leak, and it just sort of LOOKS like a pan leak. It's another case of your guy needing to do his due diligence and see where it's really coming from.
The fill plug is also at the right rear of the housing, see below. There is a tool, Steve D. has you covered there, for removing that plug. [the drain plug is in the bottom of the pan, so is different from the fill plug] Yes, some form of suction gun is required to inject the fluid into the trans. The procedure is to monitor the trans temp with a scantool and fill the trans to where the fluid just drips out of the fill whole while the fluid temp is between 30 and 50 deg. Celsius. Then plug 'er up.
