It appears that I have intermittent power feed to the electric fuel pump in the back of the car. I have a factory wiring diagram that shows a white-with-purple wire feeding power to the pump. This seems to come off a (possibly in-line) fuse labeled "No4" which, in turn is fed by a white wire that comes off a junction that also feeds power via white wires to the ignition coil, the ignition warning light, and elsewhere. According to the schematic, this white wire comes off a fuse labeled "N96" with the "9" being in superscript.
Can someone please help me figure out just where these fuses and wires are so I can troubleshoot this? I am aware that there are several fuse blocks behind the small instrument panel, and I have accessed and checked those fuses, but these fuses don't seem to be labeled the same as those described above.
I have no other electrical malfunctions, although I do have a spare bottle of Lucas Wiring Harness Smoke on hand just in case... ;-)
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks much,
Dick

Intermittent power to fuel pump 68 E-type 1.5 OTS
The ignition system is NOT fused, feeds come directly from the ignition switch.

Dick all of those fuses are in a neat little compartment behind the center panel--the one with thumb screws. Drop it down and you will find a metal plate that will direct your efforts. I think your problem is you are not using a factory wire chart. You should be looking at wire chart W5495.36.42. You will find you have a white wire with one bullet connection (you will find that on the RH A post under the glove box and toward the door. The white wire goes directly to fuse #6 which does have a "bridge" wire or "jumper" if you prefer to fuse #7. Your fuse #N96 is a mystery. If your car has been modified please save your can of smoke and get it to an automotive electricial--the older the better.
Once again as soon as you open the center panel there will be a metal plate that describes the function of each fuse and their number! Good luck.
George, once again I am indebted to you for your sage and helpful advice. I was able to locate and clean the bullet connector under the right side of the dash -- the white wire that feeds the fuel pump. Turns out that, even with proper power, my (aftermerket) fuel pump was inop. I replaced it with another aftermarket (sorry...) pump, made sure I got a low pressure pump (2.5-3 psi...), reconnected everything, and now she's running like the proper kitty she is.
Thank you for sharing your wisdom with me and others.
Kind regards,
Dick
