Must be my turn in the barrel for leaks! Now I have a leaking rear brake.

I have done seal re-builds on "other" cars, etc. But how do I get to this one? What do I do first? (Other than buy a VERY large jug of brake fluid)

Yes, check brake lines first, of course.

How's your pocket book? If you are gonna go thru all the effort to remove and reseal (or replace) the calipers, you might as well do rotors and rear axle seals, etc at the same time, if you can swing it.

I would buy a rebuilt caliper if I were you. You can get them for a little ofer $100.00 if you look around.

The manual tells you to drop the whole rear suspension but it can be done on a lift however I think it's easier to do it by just dropping the whole rear suspension assembly as they recommend.

It's not as hard as you'd think it would be. I replaced both rear calipers on an '87 XJ6 last year.

Are you SURE you don't just have a leaking brake line?
