Bottom line - I'm looking for a deep penetrating treatment.
The seats of my 69 E-Type coupe are in pretty good shape but need some TLC to soften them up. A friend advised that I used Meguiar's Gold class cleaner/conditioner, but then I saw something on line that suggested using a 2-in-1 product doesn't make sense - use a separate product for cleaning and conditioning. This made sense to me because I expected that I would clean once and condition multiple times.
I used Lexol ph balanced cleaner followed by Lexol conditioner. The seats look and feel great right after they have been conditioned but then stiffened up by the next day. I'd be happy to condition them over and over again but don't want to waste my time if there is something better out there.
Should they be oil-rubbed? I think I also randomly saw someone on-line mention a product that they microwaved and slathered on. Of course there are lots of things you read on the internet but I'd like to hear from something someone actually has done. I dont' mind if it is oily at first and takes time to set in...I've got time. Thank you!

Greetings Jason,
The only thing I can add is regards to whatever fluid you're applying.
Always found that a piece of plastic, like 10ml thick, applied over whatever topical treatment you're using, works well to allow the leather to get the necessary benefits rather than evaporation.

Jason, use only a product called 'Leatherigue" . Go to (leatherique.com) and start with the their two part cleaner and rejuvenator. Follow the instructions to the letter.
You might want to give them a call and tell them your story........

Jason,
I have a black leather Charles Eames lounge chair that I just reconditioned using simple saddle soap. It makes the leather soft and buttery smooth.
Saddle Soap contains a mild cleaner, neats foot oil (?), glycerin and lanolin (which I've learned comes from sheep's wool). Keeps those saddles in good shape!
Hope this is of use.
