I have a 1988 XJS with the V12 engine.
I am looking for a good Jag mechanic in the Sturbridge ?? area.
Im tired of going to the local mechanics that do not know how to work on my car.
Im a working stiff with limited funds to invest in the car.
I do however want it to run properly so I can enjoy it.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure where you are, but I am in NW Indiana near Chicago and have a great mechanic. He recently did a valve job on my '84 XJS for around $2,000 (going rate was $3,400).
He does some side work for $45 an hour and now works part time for a shop in East Chicago, IN. I think they charge around $60 an hour.
He is very capable and reliable, and goes by the Jag shop manual on times for all jobs. I highly recommend him if you can get your car in.
