First I had 9 spokes snap off on the passenger side front tire. My wheels needed to be set for cant or chamber but hadn't had time to get it in. Has anyone ever had spokes snap off and what is the cause? My car # is 1E17842 it is a 68 sr 1 1/2 XKE ots. Can anyone tell me if it was made before July 1968 or after as the wheels are different? Is it prudent to replace the spokes or better to buy new wheels? Thanks for the help

misc. wheels etc
Bob if your car is a 68 E (rocker switches-open headlights- twin Stromburgs if US car then you would need the wheels as a series 2 car pn.C 28044 (chrome) C.28043 if painted. Your car 1E17842 is by my ffigures the 1862nd LHD OTS made for the US. As far as your question the facts are in your message. Replace them now as they are past due. You could have them rebuilt but a rebuild to the same quality as replacements (good replacements) will be more. Watch out as there are some crummy wheels on the market. Buy top quality and don't look back. George Camp
