I picked up a 1986 XJ6 and I like how she runs. Since it has been sitting a while, I have it getting inspected (NY State and all) plus the oil changed. But in driving, I noticed a couple of little things I hope someone can help me with.
1. Radio cuts in and out. May be a loose wire (hopefully) but would it be easier to just get an after market radio (cassettes are so, well, outdated) so I can listen to my XM & CD's. Or is there something to keep it Jaguar like I can do?
2. The A/C compressor seems to be lacking a pulley. So I am guessing that the compressor is either seized or shot. What would be involved, as I do not think it takes the new R-134, to get a compressor to replace the existing one? Or would it be better to go with a retro-fit?
3. It came with some spare parts but I am really unsure of what I have. Is there someone around the Syracuse area that would be willing to help out a novice Jaguar owner with his stupid and somewhat idiotic questions. I would like to get this kitty to be a good looking and sounding Jaguar, since it would be the only one in the village and should be able to generate some envy in town...
