Hi , I recently had my car repainted. We did not do a pin stripe , the old one was white and almost totally worn away. (my car is black with a tan top). I spoke to a local guy and he came up with dozens. Then I went on the SNG Barratt site , and there I found quite a few. My question is , in yesterdays "Hemmings" there was an ad for a car almost identical to mine , the seller stated very proudly there was no pin stripe. Is this correct, will it affect judging, I am not sure what to do.

Pin Stripes
Hi George, thank you for your advice. I read though parts of the judging manual , fascinating.
I later talked with a knowledgeable friend who told me no 1992 XJS Convertibles were shipped from England with the stripe. If one wanted it , the dealer applied it. So now we know.
all best Michael.

Pin Stripes
Michael I had a brain cramp. The table is in chapter VI of the rule book. Somehow I thought it was an appendix. Take a look.

George, Thank you for the prompt response. I will hold off doing anything until I hear from you again.

Pin Stripes
Michael there was a lot of research on pinstripes and it should be on the web here but I can not find it. I will write Dick Cavicke and sure he will respond here. XJS and XJ-S are problematic as the stripes came and went by vin. For now I would suggest you do not put them on. As they are tape you can do it in a day or two after dick responds.
Glad that worked--the chart reflects what your friend said.
