Was there pinstriping on the '89 XJS? if so, what type (i.e. single, double, etc.)and what would be the appropriate color for a body painted Westminster Blue? . . . or did they come with sidemolding?
Mine currently has sidemolding which I do not beleive was factory installed. Probably getting it repainted this summer and either install proper sidemoldings or correct pinstriping.
Thanks for any advice!

Keith, and others interested in correct pin stripes.

As George stated, Chapter VI of the 2013 JCNA Concours Rule Book now contains a Pin Stripe/Coach Line table researched and compiled from the best information available.

The JCNA, "XJ-S 1976 to 1991 Judging Guide" also addresses coach stripes for those models in some detail.

Of general interest, for all Jaguars, is that ALL factory applied/authentic pin stripes were applied as tape, NOT painted. The factory stripes had unique part numbers according to the model and color.

Good luck,

I'm not sure about the '89 model, but that makes me curious about my '92. I was told that someone in Atlanta did mine, but it looks factory. It is a double painted stripe with the leaper it the tail end. See photo.
