I still have my first car , a 71 Chevrolet Vega still with its 4 cyl allum engine that has the reputation of durability of a potato chip. When I rebuilt the engine in 1983 I started using Castrol 20-50. I have since acquired 2 other Vega's along with my 68 E-Type. They all have been using Castrol 20-50, green anti freeze, 80-90 weight gear oil and DOT 3 brake fluid. I did a valve job on the 71 in the mid 90's but otherwise have not touched the inside of an engine in around 400,000 miles between them all. I still use a Vega every day for commuting in Houston so they are not babied garage queens. I think I will stick with this combination of fluids
