Power Window Trouble

I recentley purchased my first Jag, a 1979 XJ6. For the first couple days the power windows worked intremittenly, then went out. I wanted to get a look at the switch wires to check for corrosion or loose connections, but I can't get to them. I read in the Tech Library that I should remove the console cubby box, but it is help down by the cubby lid retainer clip. If anybody has any advice for me I would be very gratefull. Thanks.
