I've enjoyed my JT-5 tranny with the .73 5th gear on my 3.54 rear end for the past few years. I like that the first 4 gears are very close to the original gearing and the OD gear gives me a 2.58 final ratio for highway driving. That essentially means I only use it at speeds over 55 mph. The short throw is crisp and solid, better than my 45 year old 4-speed.
I've been restoring my car for 15 years now. It's ready for paint and a new interior now.
