John, my E-Type experience is limited but I just went through this a couple weeks ago on a 1967-ish Series one.
1) Jack up rear of car and support with jackstands, remove rear wheels
2) Attach hose to bleeder, loosen bleeder
3) Bleed rear brakes as you would in any other car
I didn't need any bent wrenches or special sockets or nuttin' ! Didn't really even have to crawl under the car. just sort reached in from the side.
There might some car-to-car build variations or such that would make the task more difficult on some cars than others but, honestly, I didn't have any trouble at all. I spent longer trying to figure out the best places to jack the up and place the jackstands.
