David I am sure no engineer I just got the suggestion to remove them from a JCOH member so gave it a shot and is one of the best things I have done. I liked that it was so easy to do or put back to original if I did not like it. I remember giggling like a little girl the first time I drove it after removing them.
I used to have a 76 Vega with a Holley 2 barrel where one barrel would stay closed at low power but then open as you continued to push down on the throttle. Seems similar to what the linkage is doing on the secondaries on the E's. I also have a Vega with Rochester 2 barrel that flows both barrels all the time. The Rochester has better throttle response at low and high so that was another thing that made me think removing the secondaries on the E might be a good idea.
I would assume wiring them full open would do the same thing as pulling the plates. I could not think of a good way to do it appearance-wise
