I purchased my 1998 Jaguar XJ8(VDP) as a previously owned vehicle and was surprised to learn, after the fact, that the Original Owner's Manual Packet and Service booklet were not provided with the car as promised by the seller. Since I did not purchase the Jaguar locally, I was in a peculiar position to rectify this matter cost effectively. I have researched the internet and found that there are several sellers on ebay offering Jaguar Owner's Manuals for my year and model of car but was advised that many of the Manuals from ebay are reproduction and may not be as complete as the factory version - then with the anxiety that goes with buying from ebay in a buyer beware market with in many cases no returns or refunds as the stated policy, I turn to the Jaguar Dealer for assistance in this matter. The Jaguar Dealer stated that Factory Owner Manuals for my year of Jaguar are no longer available through them. As a Jaguar Club member, I am therefor compelled to reach out to XJ8 Jaguar owners for their suggestions in how to find the factory complete Owner's Manual and Service Booklet for my 1998 Jaguar VDP as provided with the car when purchased new.
