In my experience, when troubles begin after replacing a part, take a good look at that part. After I read that you had replaced the distributor because the old one was worn out, I would have suspected a bad distributor (especially a used one). Used parts aren't usually worth the low price, unless a new one isn't available and you don't have any other options.
