I hope someone can help me with this. I bought a V12 (74)E-Type convertible a few years ago from a neighbour in the UK. This car was exported to the US from new. I now live in Spain, and the car is here with me. The visible chassis number is located in the engine compartement on a riveted plate. In the door sill, there is a sticker too. I was told that the same number should be stamped on the chassis. I looked in the USA Maintenance and Service Handbook, and it states that it should be stamped on the inclined face of bulkhead adjacent to the heater. The car was resprayed somewhile ago, and possibly the number was covered. Please someone either sketch or a photo indicating the exact location to avoid me stripping the whole lot out.
Thanks.

Hi Bibi,
I owned a 1974 xke ots. I am in the middle of restoring now. But to answer your question on the location of the chassis number. It's towards the driver side door of the peddle box. About 2" to the right of the peddle box as you face it head on & about even with the top bolt. I am sending a pic for you.
