David, glad to see someone else actually driving their ETYPE.
After all the engineers contemplate the ratio of tubeless tires........
The car is over 55 years old and lets be honest was not made with the best stuff on earth.
Its a lovely old crate. Or as I call it a motorcycle with a roof.
My speedo is dead on calibrated with my gps, but the tach bounces like an AMERICAN dollars overseas..........
Another factor its not a new honda accord.
Science goes out the window, from fumes to ratio's to ignition lights.
The car was designed before color tv, men on the moon and most of the worlds overall population.
My real ETYPE buddies have stopped posting years ago, why ,they just laugh when someone says they don't leak?, gas mileage, ACTUAL horsepower.
People forget, YOU COULDNT give an ETYPE away in the 1970;s and early 80's.
Its just funny how time goes by and the demands in writing must be fact like this car is a LAFERRARI, Its not, its a lovely old crate, for old guys, who will die with these cars as many youth will never be OVERALL interested.
Yes they are sexy, but to anyone under 40, as they say "it is what it is'
How many times have we heard Norman Dewis say, if Jag only spent the dollars back in the day.
Anywho, As stated before, IMHO, I love my 308 rear, Im driving 6,000 miles per years. Have to wash my clothes after long trips in it because they smell of old wool, oil and gas.
My cabin filter, eco mode and traction control doesn't really matter, its and old fun crate .
Like me.
Does your 1956 xk140 do 140 mph, If not you got a case against Jaguar for false advertising.....
Go ahead everyone else is.
Now Im having fun with you..
I need your exact calibration on your ride home, was it 90 miles or 89 if so you gas mileage is off ....
I know you must be my age your married to your wife, so enjoy the day.....
PM me when the xk140 hits 140mph.........
Smile....
