I have a 1996 X300 and a 1995 XJS-6. I've been holding off buying an OBD2 scanner but since I'm free of problems at present this is probably the time. Any recommendations for the best OBD2 scanner for these two cars? Thanks

I use an Innova 3130 and find that it's perfectly suitable for typical DIY work. Reasonably priced. You can Google it for details; everybody sells 'em.
Many, many other choices. Others will chime in
