Dave, are you really going to race it? If so the third bar is mandatory. The old hoop days are gone about 30 years.
If you do a parade lap deal at classic get togethers its okay.
My 1966 Brabham bt18 needed the 3rd leg to get back on the track.
If your going for just the look, go to the cobra sights or the Porsche kit sights they are in that same vein.
