I have removed the engine and transmission to change the clutch on my '67 OTS. This seems like the opportune time to replace the rear main seal (upper part). It does not leak but it is most likely original. Is there a special procedure to follow and seat it properly and is it straight forward or are there things to watch for? Your input is appreciated.

Francois you do not replace the "upper part" of the rear main seal--it is all replaced at once. The special procedure is called out in the servcie catalog and the Churchill sizing tool (needed) is available from JCNA (member loan). It is that simple.
