My 1970 Series II (with the long, rectangular air cleaner) has a plastic "sensor" that I'm looking to replace. Two hoses connect to the sensor, one from the base of the front carburetor to the sensor and the other from the sensor to the movable flap at the air cleaner entrance. The current sensor is an AC Delco part but there is no part number on the piece.
The Jag parts manual calls the piece a "thermal senser." None of the Jag suppliers show the part. I'm certain this is a standard emission component from the late 60s and early 70s because I've seen them on Fords, Chevys, etc.
Any suggestions on where to obtain this part? Does anyone know its United States name? Does anyone have a part number that I can use to track it down?
